To draw a ground mount, follow these steps:
If you are using our proposal tool, from the lead list page start by clicking ‘+New Lead’ and enter in a homeowners contact details, property details and utility information. Once entered and saved, click on the ‘Design’ tab to start creating your ground mount system.
If you are using our Embed tool, start directly on the design tool itself.
To draw a ground mount follow these steps:
1. On the design tool, start by drawing a roof segment on the ground. To do this, click and open the ‘Roof Segments’ accordion.
2. Select the draw icon on the left hand side - and start drawing the ground mount. Click the left button on your mouse to create the first point, let go of the left hand button on your mousse and drag the line as far as you would like it. Click the left hand button of your mouse to draw the next point. Do this until you have drawn all four sides.
To complete the ground mount click on the first point you drew.
TIP: You can also select the the magnetization icon [ ] before you start drawing your ground mount. This will subtly help new line segments start from and connect to existing points. You can also select the Guidelines Short Cut icon [
] and select the guidelines 90 degrees [
] or guidelines 180 degrees [
] and assist you with drawing your ground mount more accurately.
2. Click on the ‘Segment Labels' tab and select ‘Auto Set for Azimuth’.
3. From here label the bottom segment label as an ‘Eave’ and click on the bottom segment you just drew.
| NOTE: You can either turn ‘Auto Set for Azimuth’ on prior to labelling the segment label or label the segment and manually enter in the Azimuth under the roof segments accordion. |
4. Click back to ‘Roof Segments’. Adjust the Azimuth to your preference by hitting the up or down arrow next to the property field if you would like to adjust it.
5. Enter in a pitch by selecting the drop down arrow next to the Pitch property field.
| NOTE: As a default the pitch property field drop down will show the pitch in degrees. To display it in rise/run simply toggle the ‘Pitch in Rise/Run’ toggle on. |
6. Enter in your preferred Eave height in feet by typing the numbers into the Eave height property field.
7. Open the ‘Shading Analysis’ accordion and click ‘Run Shading.’
8. Click the Design accordion and fill your ground mount with panels. Select your preferred panel placement style.
You can choose from horizontal, vertical, both (vertical first) or both (horizontal first).
You can also choose if you'd like the panels laid out in Grid-Mode or Brick-Mode. Additionally you have the option of selecting ‘Auto’ which will result in our software placing the panels where it believes is most optimal.
Once selected, click ‘Fill Panels’.
9. View and inspect your ground mount in 3D by clicking on the 3D icon on the top right hand side of the design. If everything looks accurate, scroll down and click ‘Create Proposal’.
10. From here, until our previous proposal has been sunsetted you will be taken to the old proposal tool. Select and unselect any panels that you would prefer to have on / off, click Shading Report on the top right hand side, save, Customer Portal and Sales Rep to view the proposal.
| NOTE: Any additional configurations such as adding adders, applying discounts, updating escalation rates, updating utility bills, and turning rebates and incentives on / off can be made on the new proposal and will automatically be saved. |
